Broadmoor Reinvented with Backcountry Amenities
Just think of classic iconic American hotels and The Broadmoor, The Biltmore, Hotel Del Coronado, and The Stanley come to mind. For the last century, The Broadmoor and Broadmoor District have dominated the historic culture in southeastern Colorado Springs. An elegant oasis with stunning architecture, The Resort offers beautiful accommodations and event rooms, award-winning restaurants with diverse cuisine, boutique shops, and classes. The resort also arranges recreational outings.
Time for New Beginnings
In 2011, Philip Anschutz purchased The Broadmoor and began to reinvent the property. By expanding the depth of services, the legacy resort is adapting to the modern market. Today, complete vacations and luxury accommodations in the gorgeous Colorado mountains and forests are available. The Broadmoor is a destination and a base camp for superior experiences in the backcountry.
As John Hazlehurst asks in his Colorado Springs Gazette article (06/17/16), “Why the expansion? It may be that Anschutz is carefully building something entirely new. It’s not just a hotel, a golf club were resort, but a designer city with its own backcountry.”
Perhaps not a city but a self-contained resort and concierge that will attract clientele that prefer a sophisticated experience in the mountains without roughing it too much. The Broadmoor now offers these exciting side trips. Gourmet food will be served, even in the outback.
