The Farm Story
The new development by La Plata Communities encompasses three historic family-owned dairy farms. John Allison purchased rural property in 1947 and the family enjoyed it for seven decades. He converted a barn from the former dairy farm to raise thoroughbred racehorses. He built several ponds, naming them after daughters Ann, Frances, Mary, and Mildred. Generations swam and fished their waters. The family raised trout and grew vegetables, great dishes for outdoor meals beside the lake.
