Located north of Research Parkway, west of Chapel Hills Drive, and south of Briargate Parkway, The Highlands at Briargate will be easily accessible from all directions.
Background on New Briargate Retail Development
Focus on the Family, a nonprofit organization with headquarters located on an adjacent property in Briargate, owns a prime parcel held as investment property. The continuing growth in the north part of the Colorado Springs real estate market, including areas of El Paso County such as Woodland Park and Monument, has increased the demand for shopping areas closer to home. Enter the idea for The Highlands at Briargate. The area includes a high percentage of high-income households. The Keith Corp. of North Carolina seeks to build a 220,000 square foot retail complex to accommodate those high-end shoppers.
Construction will begin June 2015. Until then, a portion of the property will continue to be used by local Little League baseball leagues. For a token annual fee, the League has leased this parcel since 2005. Substantial improvements have been added. Little League must remove a number of facilities and is looking for financial assistance to offset the cost of relocation.
