Most are investing in smaller plats, utilizing a sort of pay-as-you-go approach instead of getting too far ahead of the demand.
Colorado Springs Business Journal (May 2012) reported the sentiments of several Colorado Springs homebuilders, including John Cassiani, president of the Colorado Springs Home Builders Association and president of Banning Lewis Ranch residential development. “It’s not going to be a blowout year… But we are optimistic.”

President of Saddleback Homes, Lee Bolin, explained how sales have improved during the last couple of years. His company builds upscale semi-custom homes priced from $350,000 to just shy of $1 million—in Cathedral Pines, Jackson Creek, Flying Horse, and Cordera.
Campbell Homes CEO Randy Demming explained how resilient the homebuilders have been since the peak season of the real estate bubble. His company has modest yet formidable goals for 2012. Campbell Homes is building new homes in Meridian Ranch, The Gables, Cordera, and Falcon Hills.
Challenger Homes is also diversified into multiple neighborhoods in every corner of Colorado Springs real estate. The company experienced record new-home sales in 2011 and Q1 2012. To sustain production through changes in the real estate market, Challenger Homes added locations and price points. The company offers homebuyers choices ranging from $150,000 to over $500,000.
Median list prices in Colorado Springs rose 4.56 percent year over year in April to $229,000.
