Residents of Colorado Springs real estate at times take for granted easy access to exciting sports teams events. Newcomers, however, are often surprised at the wide range of sporting events available in The Springs. After all, there are approximately 675,000 residents in the 200+ square-mile Metropolitan area. Professional baseball, soccer, rugby, and cricket teams play in Colorado Springs, and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association is also headquartered here. Near downtown Colorado Springs real estate is the United States Olympic Training Center. Local small fry, high school, college, and university teams are fun to watch, too.
Professional sports teams
Four professional teams have presence in Colorado Springs. The baseball and soccer teams use Security Service Field, rugby at Bear Creek Regional Park, and cricket at Rose Bowl Memorial Park. The teams are as follows:

Rodeo
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association is headquartered in Colorado Springs. The Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame is also located in the city. For 13 years, the headquarters of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) was in Colorado Springs. The PBR held large events at the World Arena.
Olympic sports
The United States Olympic Committee, the US Anti-Doping Agency, and 16 national federations for individual Olympic sports keep headquarters in Colorado Springs. The United States Olympic Training Center is home base for a long list of athletes training for swimming, volleyball, judo, field hockey, hockey, bobsled, table tennis, fencing, tae kwon do, shooting, skating, basketball, triathlon, boxing, cycling, and more.
Over the decades, Colorado Springs has been home to numerous figure-skating athletes. World Arena skating events, Broadmoor Skating Club, and the World Figure Skating Museum and Hall of Fame form a solid figure-skating foundation. The United States Figure Skating Championships and World Figure Skating Championships have been held in Colorado Springs about a dozen times.
School and recreational sports teams
Colorado Springs offers a wide range of competitive sporting activities for people of all ages. Young children can participate in activities such as baseball, soccer, and gymnastics. There are adult leagues for many of the popular sports also. In addition, area schools offer competitive sports for students living on Colorado Springs properties. Most begin in junior high school.
Local colleges and universities field teams, some connected to the NCAA Division I or the Mountain West Conference. The United States Air Force Academy and Colorado College have gained national recognition for numerous athletic achievements.
